I recently found a Canadian Quarter, while searching through a roll of US quarters. I was trying to identify the minting year but the coin doesn't show any indication of that. I'm pretty new to the hobby and so seeking your expert help.

Due to my inability to take a photo with my camera, I'm linking to an image of a similar coin:

The difference between the above linked coin and mine is that on my coin, there is no year on the reverse. Also, the obverse has a "P" below the queen's portrait and a "1952" and "2002" behind the queen's neck.

Can someone please help me understand more about this coin?

    Thanks in advance.

I believe it was minted to commemorate the 50th anniversary of something. Most likely minted in 2002.

It was minted in 2002. The 'P' means it is 'P'lated steel. It commemorates the 50th anniversary of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II's reign.
