Canadian Proof-like error, cracked from a hard slab - is it legit?

This coin was in a CCCS hard slab, but did not look right. I cracked it out and I am having real trouble convincing myself that this thing is actually a legit error. I think it is not double struck with a brockage fragment or through a lamination peel, but rather was struck once normally and then someone with a portion of a soft die did the rest.

I have limited experience with soft die fakes, but the overall shape of the coin, and other properties of this thing make me think it is not legit, despite it had being certified by a Canadian TPG. Perhaps @Fred Weinberg, @Jon Sullivan or @JCro57 can chime in here???

Very interesting, I would think that a double struck coin like yours would have evidence of the first strike in other places on the coin. Usually around the perimeter.

Probably should have left it in the slab.

Seriously?? Why on earth would I do that?? I'd rather crack the slab and remove a problem or fake error coin from the collector market, then to pass it on to someone else.

Mike Diamond already confirmed it was a soft die manipulation.

I guess I didn't read the postings carefully enough, I thought you were in doubt as to the authenticity. If not, cracking is a good thing to do.
