Hello, I'm new to this forum and just want to say it's great there is a place like this to get the info we're all looking for (thanks everyone). I just recently found a canadian nickel with no date at all. I've been collecting coins for a while now and have never come across anything like this before. Has anyone heard of this or is it just a mint mistake coin?. I'll put a picture up as soon as I can. Thanks, Bear
Welcome to the forum. It could be a grease filled die or some other error.... Pics will really help. Charlie
Is it possible that it's a 2002 with the dates 1952-2002 on the obverse to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Bill
Thanks for the replies Bill and Charlie. Bill, that was my first impression when i first picked the coin up but when I turned it over the dates were not there...had to flip it a around for a while. Thought i was seeing things or rather not seeing things. Bear
Golden Jubilee. Bill, the coin is commemorating the Golden Jubilee of the Queen's accession, not the coronation,as she was crowned in 1953.I thought that I had better point this out. How's things been over in your part of Canada? Aidan.
