    Dug up my world coin collection from when I was a kid (40 years ago)!

    Silver!

    Yes.. they are Totem Poles indeed. That is supposed to be the Rocky Mountains behind the Totem.

    Starting with the 1949 dollar ( commem Newf), the Mint would make all the dollars for that year as a commemorative, the 1958 being for BC and the '64 being for Quebec, but the '67 with the Canadian goose was for the centennial of the Confederation. All other years was the commonVoyageur and Indians in a canoe type Reverse. Those mentioned were all .800 silver strikes (.6 oz each). Those Provinces for 70, 71, 82, 73, 74, 82, and '84 were all nickel

    I love Canadian coins ALOT...but I prefer Mexican coinage bar far....JMHO
