I have a 1902 King Edward 25 cent piece from Canada that I am trying to research. The Reverse is coin rotated like a US coin, as opposed to Medal rotated as all the other Canadian coins I have are. This is my oldest Canadian coin though, and I am wondering if it is possible Canada used to coin rotate their quarters, and switched at some point to medal flipping?
During Edward VII's reign the Ottawa Mint took over for the British Royal Mint. Coins from 1902-1907 were struck in coin turn, and in 1908 they switched to medal turn.
