When I look at this coin, the letters on top are shifted down from the letters behind. I also think I see notching in the E of Elizabeth. It appears to be Rotated Hub Doubling but I'm not sure about it.:) Looks like it has separation lines in the letters.

One more picture or the first E in Elizabeth

First E. Looks like it is notched at top, middle, and bottom.

These are as clear as I can get.

I cleaned my lense and propped the coin at an angle with paper and this is the best I can get.:smile

    Better Pics

More Pics. Definately notching at the top of the E. This is wierd, it almost looks like I see a tripple strike in the B and E. I've marked the notching at the top of the E in the 4th picture down.

Notching in the Top of the first E and notching in the bottom of the second E.

What size loupe did you use and what camera? Pictures and magnification can sometimes give the coin a diff look.

I'm using a digital microscope by Carson

I have it set to increased magnification. It won't magnify any more than that. It gets blury if I magnify any more. There is no way I can get a better photo with the Digital Cameras I have. This digital microscope is superior to my camera, but you can see it is not perfect. You can see the notching however in the E.:rollling:

If this is machine doubling, how come it has notching?
