I would like to use Canadian coins to make jewelry and other items for sale; what are the legal implictions of this?? Can one use any of the coins, are there any restrictions on this?

I think its the same as US coins...as long as you don't try to use the coins for fraud or try to pass them off as real and un-damaged you are A OK...I think you must sell them as jewelry...
Wait till some of our Canadian members stop by...they will know for sure.

The artistic cutting of coins is legal, the fraudulent defacing of coins is not. so long as you dont get them confused your fine.

It should be fine. There are many paperweights, souvenirs, lucky penny animal figure decorations on the market made with real Canadian coins.
