Here's an article that will interest the collectors of Canadian banknotes; http://banknotewiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Banknotes_of_the_Bank_of_Canada_(Dominion_of_Canada) . Please let us know what you think? Aidan.
Nice, but could use pictures so you can see what's being described. Out of curiosity, what did Canada use for paper money before 1935?
Canada also used notes issued by various banks as well. These trading bank notes are commonly known as chartered bank notes.I have got a $5 that was issued by the Bank of Montreal,Quebec in 1935.Technically,the Dominion banknotes are still legal tender, but their collectability far outweighs their face value. Twiggs, here's a link to an article about the banknotes of the Dominion of Canada; http://banknotewiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Banknotes_of_the_Dominion_of_Canada . It is usually the 1900 25c. notes that turn up & are very popular, but the 1923 issue is not easy to find. The last 2 issues of the 25c. notes are the only Dominion notes that collectors can often afford to buy.
