Not an expert in these, but I remember the definition of machine doubling being, "flat, shelf like surfaces". To my, especially the bottom pic, looks exactly like that. So my guess would be machine doubling.
I usually would agree, but look at picture #3, the H and the II sure look like split serifs to me. Intriguing to say the least.
