hi i picked up off a friend a few coins tonight he has had them for years and dont collect unfortunatly he didnt store them well they are a rusty greenish color but looked at closely all the marks on both sides are in what i think great shape theres a 1859 canada 1897 canada as well as a dark colored 1910, the newfoundland coins are 1907 and 1909. the older canada vickies seem to be thinner in diameter, is this normal ? how do i get this god awful color rusty green off of them,, is there any value to these if cleaned proper and does anyone know a proper way to clean them or know of someone who does clean this off coins? one is a rusty orangy look look in some places on the older vicky coin. thanks i also picked up 5 1969 dimes didnt have a good look at yet a 1959, 1953 1962 1955 1961 and another 1961 5 cent pieces . also a newfoundland 1894 20 cent piece which is in great shape but a little dirty great detail. 2 canada dollars 1952, 1962, another 1975 and 1982 dollars. one of the 1962 5 cent pieces looks to have a sparkly shine to both side, dont know what it is . also canada 25 cent pieces 1941, 3 1943 one has a die crack on both sides fairly large 1942 1944 1959 1962 and 1965 . and several other dimes from the 40's 50's and 60's any thoughts or comments on value or cleaning techniques. thanks again it was a good night to add to my collection sad the large pennies have that god ugly greenish color...hope to hear from some people with advice

If you PM me I'll give you a URL to a great site that can give you valuations on all grades of these coins including coins from Newfoundland, N.B, Nova Scotia and PEI and please don't clean them it will lower the value, the green stuff is Verdi Gris, nasty but a natural chemical reaction
