That's pretty coin! Have you seen many of these. The profile looks like it would be pretty deep on the die. It could be a case, like Lincoln cents, where the letters aren't always fully struck, due to how deep the head is in the die. I'm not familiar with the series though, so I don't know if it's common or not.
