Below from my collection, find digital images of a Canada 1 Cent, 1882 H. Although bent and pretty well beat up in spots by circulation, it appears to be a double die. Comments welcome.
Ho Humm. Canadien coins aren't really my thing, only owning a few in the early 1900's, I see some doubling in some letters but not all. Die deterioration or Machine doubling?? I don't think it's a DD. @Rick Stachowski ?? What do you see?
Truly a Double die. A nice find. Listed here. https://coinsandcanada.com/coins-prices.php?coin=1-cent-1882&years=1-cent-1876-1901
What you have is an 1882 "Obv 2/1 with heavy punch doubling". It's a combination of some machine doubling and hand repunches. We put it into the 2011 65th edition of Charlton's in the Vicky variety section. It is the scarcest of the 1882 varieties and it's on page 314 of the 2011 Charlton. In VG-8, which your coin hasn't reached, it's listed at $300 Canadian or about $225 US. The coin has led a tough life, but someone might be interested in it as a hole-filler, maybe $50 or so.
The $50 is Canadian dollars and you'd have to find a buyer. I don't think that a dealer would touch it.
