This has nothing to do with coins really, sometimes I wish I this forum had a general discussion to post such things things as this. Anyway I just thought some feedback would be interesting. I was surfing ebay for coins and somehow ended up on a BIN listing for a psychic reading. The user will answer one question by email using their "genuine" psychic abilities to give you an answer. The "reading" cost $4.99 per question. I reported the item as being a fradulent listing because quite frankly I think all psychic readings are fraudulent. But is selling this kind of service against any of eBay's policies? Could I sell my coin grading services on eBay? I'll use my genuine amateur abilities to grade a photo of any coin you send me. It'll only cost you $4.99 per coin that's a bargain compared to what PCGS charges. 5% satisfaction guaranteed! :hail:

Oh and they user has already sold 37 items or "reading" and has 99.9% positive feedback with nearly 1000 feedback ratings. P.T. Barnum would be proud.

  3. This does not surprise me. Anything can be put up for sale and there always seems to be someone somewhere buying. I am no eBay expert but Craigslist seems to have more of a reputation for offering "services" for sale. TC

There used to be someone who did sell grading services on ebay - usually a cheap coin and then 5 gradings. Something like that.

Also this board does have a General Discussion Form. All you have to do is opt into the forum.

I have seen auctions in the past that were selling an 'a&&-kicking' and the likes..

There are brick and mortar palm readers and psychics in nearly every city and town in America. Can't see why it would be fraudulent to charge for it on e-bay.

From what you have stated, I see no "physical items" being sold. However, there are simple ways around that i.e. sell a coin with the grade written on it.
