I hope I put this in the right area of the forum. Can you help me grade this 1936-S Walker on Ebay. It looks nice, but I'm not good at grading. Thanks! https://www.ebay.com/itm/323260914742?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
Welcome to ct. there are many books that can help you, iE: THE RED BOOK, A GUIDE BOOK OF UNITED STATES COINS, BY R,S,YEOMAN. PHOTOGRADE, BYJAMES F RUDDY (THIS BOOK WOULD BE EASY FOR YOU TO FOLLOW, THE ART AND SCIENCE OF GRADING COINS, BY JASON POE, (THIS IS A GREAT BOOK IF YOU REALLY WANT TO LEARN HOW TO GRADE COINS). ANOTHER GREAT BOOK IS, THE COIN COLLECTOR'S SURVIVAL MANUAL, BY SCOTT A. TRAVERS. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU, THIS IS A WEALTH OF INFORMATION FOR YOU. BY THE WAY, I WOULD SAY YOUR COIN IS A VERY FINE- 2O GRADE, WORTH ABOUT $16.00 RETAIL.
It has certainly seen some mileage. Still is a nice looking coin. I would call that squarely in the fine category myself.
It's a VF in my opinion: too little wear for just a fine. However, some of the coloring on the back looks a little iffy. I guess it isn't a rare date and late 30's Walkers typically are VF.
