Looks like the TDR of the 1955 Pf. FS#5-035 to me. But not sure if it is a proof surface or not. What is the year, mint, type? Nice doubling, but the only DD I have in the series is the '39 -022

    Jim,
It's not a proof and you are in the correct decade.

    I'll say it's either a 1956 or a 1962.

Hey Jim what ever happened to the 64 double dome variety they used to be big in the sixties? I remember rthem as a kid, and they are not even listed in coneca variety listings i wonder why. i have a 1951s jefferson nickle with double bottom steps and dome and i can;t even find a listing for that one.i think that one is a different variety altogether.

    I remember them also.
    Good old, Frank Spadone.
I believe that they were just strike doubling.

What guide are you using to reference these nickel varieties? The Cherry Picker's Guide?

No I wish they were in the cherry pickers guide. They are not even listed in the coneca listings. I have a couple of 64 nickles with double domes and in the sixties they were classified as double dies, but i don't know what happnd to them. I have a 1951S too with doubled steps and dome which is not in the listings either I'm not to happy about this [IMG]
