This kinda fell into my lap today at face value. My bank knows that I collect and so occasionally they have strange things come in that they hold for me, and when I got there today the lady asked me if I wanted a 1928 $100 bill. So I said sure! Now I just have to figure out if it is worth anything. Oh yeah, I also have to figure out how to grade notes! Obverse: There is slight rippling from the Fed seal to the bottom edge, there is a yellow "X" made by a teller's authenticity checking marker between the Fed seal and Franklin's portrait, there is a very light crease diagonally across the lower left hand corner (completely on the white outside of the printed design), and finally, none of the corners are particularly sharp, although the note is still very crisp. Reverse: Any opinions on grade and possible value would be greatly appreciated! thanks, CJD
$120 circulated, vf $205, uncirculated $750. If you can get your hands on some $500, or $1000 bills, then you got yourself something.
The light X should go away...I have one of the pens that you would use to see if the money is real (that type of pen doesn't work all the tiem) and after a day or two it should go away. Speedy
I would put it on ebay and see what you can get for it. Maybe someone needs it for their set/collection.
i'll give you 100 bucks for it Not deleted as an improper buy-sell-trade posting only because it appears to be a gag, even without this smiley.
you were right speedy, I just looked at it for the first time in a week and the yellow "X" is gone!! Yeah!
