Found this coin roll hunting. 2015 Kisatchie

Yes, I know it's small. Just wondering if this would be classified as a cud since it goes from the rim into the field? It is raised on the rim very slightly and raised into the filed over the P. no damage on the reeding/edge.

Good question. If it goes all the way to the very edge of the coin, I suppose, technically it is. :) But I'm not really an error guy.

    Ty guys!
At first I thought die crack, but it is raised up pretty gd and slightly on the rim. Didn't think of strike through metal shaving.
If it is a die break going from the rim into the field though.....

If it's raised, it can't be a strike through.

From the photo, it looks incused, making struck through a possibility.

By definition a cud is a missing or broken off portion of the die on the rim. Sometimes it is retained and will still stamp details on the coin, in this case, a retained cud. In other cases the piece is missing all together, and just leaves a raised blank area where the missing peice of die is. In both cases it would show where it crossed the rim in two places that are connected by a crack, if that makes sense.

    Maybe a cudette?

It has to connect to the rim in 2 places. Just a simple line would be a crack. As an example, you make one cut into a pie. It's not a slice of pie until another slice is made to form a wedge to break away from the pie.
