I am getting conflicting info as I look it up. Anyone know the precise explanation of what it is and whose it was?
Those labels I believe are exclusive for The Brigandi Coin Shop here in NYC. But I'm not totally positive about that. I have purchased Mint Errors from them a few times and they have The Manhattan Collection on them. Here is a example of a coin from their website
That's exactly why I am confused. Is it the Chase Manhattan Collection, or the coin shop Paddy is talking about? Trying to see which is accurate.
Maybe the Corgi Manhattan Collection on the runway at fashion week (sorry for hijacking and posting off topic. Now back to your regularly scheduled thread)
If the collection isn't famous enough for you to know about it without having to ask, it isn't famous enough to be worth a pedigree premium. Just value it as if there was no name on the label.
Maybe you can call Brigandi Coin and say.."hey, I aquired a slab that states Manhattan Collection.. So I'm was just curious if this is exclusive to you or is it reffering to something else?".. They are nice people. Im sure they will explain it well.

Contact NGC - if they saw fit to imprint that on their 'slab tab', they should be able to explain its meaning
From what I have heard, anyone can make up any name they want - the name may or may not have any meaningful connection to the provenance of the coin. Maybe these coins were found in a lock-box in a bank in Manhattan? Who knows. It would be interesting to see what NGC's criteria for a named collection is.
Like I said, if the collection is so obscure that you have to ask (and in this case apparently a lot of knowledgeable people here haven't heard of it either) it isn't worth a pedigree premium. Value it as if there was no name on the label.
