Doesn't look like a fingerprint to me unless it was someone with REALLY big fingers. The lines are pretty uniform. Looks more like maybe it stuck in something cloth or something that would give it uniform lines. Interesting, but I'm 99% it's just PMD. More specifically - schmootz (that's the technical term)

Over time the oils on our fingers can eat into the metal of a coin and cause discoloration. I'm sorry but this is not an error. On a good day this coin is worth about 25 cents. Spend it quick, before inflation makes it worthless. :)

Yep. Looks like textile toning, from cloth, or a similarly contoured surface.

Why would you create this thread in the What's it Worth forum? o_O

Maybe because she wanted to know what it’s worth? ;)

(The easy answer is: 25 cents.)

I know that.. I'm just trying to make a point. Many of the threads created in the What's it Worth forum should be in the Error Coins section. It just shows how desperate new collectors are on finding something that could make them rich :bucktooth:
I see the same thing over on Facebook pages dedicated to errors and numismatic topics. Someone posts an obvious scratched up parking lot Cent and the only thing they want to know is "Is this worth anything?"

They should worry more about what the issue could be, learn something and then ask about any premiums.
It's just me.. I find it annoying :shifty:

A tad oversensitive, perhaps, but fair enough- we all have our pet peeves.
