Hello Friends.. It appears to be a Medal or Token from Calif..but I know nothing of it and would be interested in finding out about it. As far as I know it is a 1 oz silver round..Thanks in Advance.. ..it is my Father in Laws..
Looks like a token or a silver round...most of the time they are sold for a few cents over face value... As for a story...I have no idea... Speedy PS--the date is 1769-1969 (I think) maybe at some show for CAL they did this since it had been 200 years...BUT how could it be 1769 when the USA was founded in 1776
Thanks Speedy... My Father in Law just came over and gave it to my Son..I have no idea. and not to interested in it..just thought I would post uit a see if anyone knew anything.. Thanks!
I looked online a little and found that Ken Potter has one on his wedsite... http://koinpro.tripod.com/ExonumiaList.html This is what it says----"California Bicentennial 1769-1969 (Bear) //The Golden Land. 1oz .999 silver round $xx.xx" Speedy
