    Happy Holidays everyone!

Wondering if anyone can identify this coin for me please, I did google this coin but not sure if it's from Norway, France or Sweden. Also can someone tell me if the coin is a penny, nickel or dime and if this would be silver?

    Thank you

    Sweden, 2 1/2 Ore 1668, 0.444 Silver.
Not sure what you mean by "Penny, Nickel or Dime"? Most of the world has never used these terms for their coin, only the USA.

I'm no expert, but I believe PaddyB is right on the id, except I question the denomination. It says on the coin, FYRA ORI, which my googled translator says means "Four Ori," or, I would guess, 4 ore. As I said, I'm no expert and there may be something I'm missing here. It's hard to judge the size of a coin by a picture.

As for "penny" and "nickel," these are just nicknames for coins in this country. (Britain and some of it colonies and former colonies have or had coins called pennies). Officially these are "cent" and "five cent." The term "nickel" became a popular nickname when the U.S. switched from silver half dimes to copper nickel 5 cents, and was useful since they were produced concurrently for a while. The term "dime" was invented in 1792 (originally "disme) to be the official term for the new ten cent denomination, so it would only be used by the U.S. or some country (like Canada) which imitated our coin denominations.

Different countries have different locations for mint marks, and I don't know of a list of them and where to look. It is usually mentioned on Numista, but not always. Many foreign coins have none. Sweden only has one mint, Stockholm, so no need for any mint marks

I stand corrected! I used Krause and once I had found the 2 1/2 Ore coin I stopped looking - always a mistake. :)
