Can I request the same custom "Collection" name for multiple submissions?

Does anyone know if I can submit coins multiple times, and request that it be labeled by the same "John Doe Collection" each time? Or, are you somehow limited to just the first time you submit the coins (e.g. NGC's system may see that it already exists and doesn't know that you were the one who submitted it)?

    Thanks in advance!

I've emailed NGC customer service before with questions about NGC coins and they've been very helpful - took a few days for a response, but they did get back to me and were helpful.

I did some looking over on the NGC site but could not find an answer. I did find that it cost $5 per coin to have your name on the label.

For anyone interested or curious, it looks like it doesn't matter how many times you submit coins for pedigree designation, so long as it meets some other basic criteria.

A submitter to NGC may request that NGC pedigree a coin to his or her own collection on the NGC certification label. The most common pedigrees are the submitter’s surname followed by the word “Collection.” No additional documentation is required when a submitter is requesting that his or her own name be added to the NGC certification label; however, if a submitter’s surname is the same as a famous person’s surname, NGC may reject the pedigree or require that the submitter’s given name and surname be used. A collector may also select a name of personal significance other than a surname. For example, children’s names or a geographic place name may be used. In such cases, NGC may require additional information before the pedigree will be granted.

Some restrictions apply to pedigrees assigned by NGC. Pedigrees on NGC labels do not begin with the word “The.” A trademarked name or tagline cannot be used as a pedigree without permission from the trademark owner. Except by special arrangement, Company names are not used in pedigrees, including references to specific auction sales that are less than 100 years old.

Recognition and attribution of pedigrees is at NGC’s sole discretion. NGC will not recognize a pedigree that it believes could be confused with another pedigree.

It also says this in the first Q&A at the bottom of the link, which is nice: "There is no additional fee to attribute a coin to a collection, including your own." I read on the NGC forum that filling out your pedigree name may cause a $5 charge, but I'm not sure if that's due to an error, requesting for some other label service instead of a pedigree (and paying for it for no reason), or maybe the policy changed and NGC didn't update the linked page above.

I wonder if you can use a pseudonym? My full name, if nothing else, is way too long for a dang label and really I wouldn't want that. At all.

My 'game name' is short and fun, but non-related to coins in any way.

Then there is 'Stork', or as my stuff at NGC is known, 'Star City Homer'.

A couple of my sets there are decent and it might be cool to have them so labeled. At least the Albanians. My Japanese coins are exceeding their attribution and date limits these days.

But it would be cool to get those Albanians in a Homer label. The original Homer himself (my dog, not the poet) is sadly deceased, but the name sticks. He was a good boy. Homer 640 copy.jpg
