Late Roman, early 4th century. Probably tetrarchy or just after. Definitely worth more than a cent, but not a ton. Its worth a few bucks, but hey, how cool is it to own something from the ancient Romans, huh?
The photo is kind of rough. but it looks like the Roman emperor Maximianus, circa 290 AD. Sweet find.
I don't disagree, but since the photo was so rough I was unsure which emperor it was. However, with the size, I believe it would have to be a reformed follis, so much later than 290.
I'm guessing somebody put that in a roll intentionally - to spur numsimatic curiosity. I've done that a couple times - I used to give out G (readable date) IHC's at toll booths.
