1999 S Quarter..I found it in a coin roll so I'm guessing that explains the scratches. How can I clean the green stuff starting to take the reverse and obverse over? I don't understand this either as it has been sitting in a 2x2 the whole time I have had It. I know your not suppose to clean coins, but is there something I can do? Maybe let it sit in bleach for a minute? Or two? Any suggestions and or advise would be greatly appreciated!
No to the bleach idea. Let it sit for a while in a bath of pure acetone. In this case, cleaning the coin would make no difference in it's value. I wouldn't waste my time or acetone on it.
