I believe that it may be a "Struck Through Grease" error. That happens when they are cleaning, or polishing the dies, and leave some grease trapped within the design in the die, so when a coin is struck, it makes it so the part of the design is full of grease, making it so the coin will not have any detail in what ever part of the design that the die had grease trapped in. Also, check for gouges where the potential error is, if there are gouges that means that it is not an error, and someone just scratched part of the lettering away.

If it is an error, it holds a value of little to no premium, maybe an extra 25-50 cents if you are lucky. Anyways, it still pretty cool.
