Picked this up today at the market. I was told it is a Afghanistan Rupee but that's about all the guy could tell me. Wondering about the age and any other information about the coin. It weighs a little over 10 Grams. Thanks for any help someone could give.
Try posting it at the world coin forum and see if anyone there has an idea. It's probably modern (meaning produced with machinery) because it appears to have been struck within a collar. Some of the guys in the ancient forum are familiar with such coins, too, and you might try there.
All the Afghan rupees in SCWC which look anything like that are all hammered coins. None of the milled coins (post 1900) look similar.
