Hi all, I recently acquired this in a pound of foriegn coins. I assume that it is an ancient. It is about 5/8" or so in diameter and paper thin. Any help at all is greatly appreciated.

I have no idea, but it looks Chinese.

    Ancient? Probably. Chinese? No way.

The first round Chinese coins without a square hole in the center date from circa 1900, and there is enough pattern left on this one to tell that it doesn't come close to a match.

It also differs significantly from the coins of every other Asian and Middle Eastern nation that I am familiar with. I'm 99% certain that it is a European ancient.

Perhaps,it could be an ancient Jewish coin from Judea.
