Hi everyone, can anyone shed any light on this coin that my son has. I’ve tried to do some research but can’t seem to find anything. Thanks in advance, Matt

I can't read the obverse. From the portraiture and the reverse type I'd guess it's a Valentinian I or Valens, probably the former.

I was thinking Valentinian as well.

Hmmm. Looks like an unbroken obverse inscription, which means it's probably Valentinian II, not I. Constantinople mint?. The reverse looks like RIC (Cons) 53: GLORIA RO-MANORVM - Emperor standing facing right, holding standard in right hand and resting left hand on shield, but RIC lists this type only for Arcadius with a different obverse. I think you might have a mule: 52(obv)/53(rev).

Can you make out the exergue?
