Can anyone answer this?

    I found a penny that my wide got out if a coin machine. It was wrapped in paper, had a date on it and had, what appears AD or AP written on the paper. The penny was a deeper red color. Any ideas of what the AD or AP might mean?

    Doesn't look any different other than a darker color and well defined.

    Are you sure that paper didn't say AT as in artificially toned. Though it looks like it just took a ride is someone's shoes for a bit.

    It was either AD or AP. I'm still holding on to it though.
