I came across a few of these interesting coins/medals. Minted in Poland for the Republic of Cameroon. Does anyone collect these coins or is this just another way to accumulate bullion?

Tks. They are interesting but like you, know nothing about them.

There are some cool designs and plenty of options to choose from.

However, they are not priced as bullion. Most times a 1 oz silver version of these collector coins will be priced at $100+ (some series can reach the $200-$300 level based on low mintage and popularity). Another thing to consider is what happens when you try to sell one of these. Most dealers and local coin stores will treat them as bullion and only offer spot. The way to maximize your return is to sell directly to collectors (like on eBay). Sometimes you will be able to make your money back or profit but often prices fall after the release and you will end up taking a loss (although not as big as if you sold to one of those dealers at spot).

The short version: there are some cool coins out there but they tend to be pricey. Buy them because you like it and can afford it-not as an investment.

thank you! I believe you are absolutely correct! Btw, I’ve seen some of these coins being offered at much higher numbers! I’d be better buying a few decent Morgan’s.
