A ring that was apparently worn by Caligula featuring his wife is up for sale. Who knows if it really was owned by him, still a cool ring. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...belonged-Roman-Emperor-goes-sale-500-000.html
Wow! Whether or not it dates back to Caligula and belonged to him, I don't know... but it is an extremely cool ring!
Indeed. I had to wait a while to see the image due to the popup video and ad garbage on the page, though.
Yes, definitely a unique & exquisite piece. Amazing story & the price differentials it sold for over the years is equally amazing (I guess not everyone knew the alleged "story"). They should submit it to Forensic Files to do a DNA test on it.
Too bad ad blockers don't work for the large, unnecessary, and distracting photos the two of you use in your sig lines . Oh the irony .
Really, O Queen of Snark? His is all of 200x75 pixels. My present one is 275x120, and is admittedly a bit taller than the other one I used, and, OK, probably too large. I was thinking of switching it anyway. Will do so when I get a chance. (Edit- just did.) But I won't be deleting my sigline image entirely just to suit you.
New laptop. Still learning Windows 10. Haven't installed a lot of stuff yet. Not a big fan of Win10 so far.
Yes, really. I wonder why CT allows them? What if everyone had large image (or any image) in their sig line? Scrolling past all that repetitive stuff is just as annoying as ads that crowd other websites... ads which prompt people to install ad blockers. We have control over our avatars. That seems like plenty of real estate for advertising who we are, plus interested parties can click on a member's profile to see more if desired.
True, some sites don't allow them. I agree that they should be limited in size, and your criticism is duly noted. CT does allow them, however, and I like having one, and I'll be keeping one. (But I will downsize it.) If they are of moderate enough size, they do not bother me, personally. Almost gave you a "Best Answer", and restrained myself from uploading a big animated GIF with twinkling lights.
There's a way you can adjust your settings to not see signature lines. I don't remember how it's done, but if you poke around in the settings somewhere you should be able to find it.
Several ad blockers do have custom ad blocking, I have blocked several things on various websites with custom filters. So even banners can be blocked.
True. A lot of folks can't even see siglines. I know this because I have directed people to the giveaway link in my sig before, and they couldn't see it. Check on that, @TIF.
The ring is truly amazing. How they were able to manipulate, and manufacture something like this with their limited technology is incredible. Thanks for posting it.
Excellent, thanks! I've made the change (but still think it would be best if everyone refrained from having images in their sig link).
Ha. I crack me up. (PS- couldn't find any twinkling stars, but I'm not used to my new GIF app yet. The rainbow will have to do.) Edit- OK, I made my real signature tiny. Not sure I like it that way. I reserve the right to upscale a tad later (within reason). OK by you, @TIF? Check on that setting where you can ignore signatures. Go to your username at the top of the page, choose "Preferences" in the drop-down menu, and unclick the box that says "Show people's signatures with their messages".
