Lets see your Byzantine coins. Here is a very nice Michale IV 1034 folis which I cleaned myself and a couple of silver 1331-1371 Ivan & Michael Groshens.

I have a few taking a very long bath, not exactly picture-worthy just yet. I hope against hope that they come out like the one you cleaned.

Here is a Byzantine coin that I have although it is completely unattributed. The back reads IC XC I? XA and is a similiar coin to Bone's. Any help on what it is would be greatly appreciated and I would like to note that the obverse looks 3x better in person!

I dunno, the letters on the back are different, are they unique to an individual ruler? If so it ought to be easy to help attribute them. What is meant by "anonymous follis" by the way? I never did research what was meant by that.

My favorite Byzantine coin is this one from Justinian:

I bought it because the image looked like either a giant ant or a movie space alien.
    And not a nice alien.

    Guys,
Nice coins ...... wish I had one to show :( :(
I plan on adding one someday to my world gold collection. I wouldn't consider it complete without at least one Byzantine and one Ancient (Roman and/or Greek) piece in it.

    Thanks for sharing your coins!

Nice follis ! The second silver coin looks like a (contempory) hungarian copy ?!
