I am looking to buy a few coins like a 63 Franklin and a 64 Kennedy. I have looked at some of the online sellers, like Coins of America and govmint.com. Is this a good way to go or better to go to a coin show. I see a 64 BU Kennedy for $23. What do you think.

I think you need to look around some more. You can buy BU '64 Kennedy halves for a fraction of that price.

A 1964 Kennedy half has a bullion value of around $10.50 give or take.
BU Kennedy half dollars should be available from your local B&M for around that price.
Of course, if it is certified by NGC or PCGS in a high mint state (65 or better), it's worth more.

Coin of America is pricey. Also do not buy from Littleton, the National Mint. Any dealer that advertises in the Newspaper inserts like Parade and USA Today are overpriced and overgraded.
