I went to @C-B-D 's eBay store and saw this intriguing listing.

1900 1c Indian Head Cent MS BU UNC detail weird color rare old type coin #J

And it was only $11, and a Buy-It-Now! I could not resist clicking on the mouse to see what he had!

Let's see what is weird about this one. True, it doesn't have much in the way of luster.

But the colors are plentiful. There are more boldly toned coins out there, but this one doesn't lack toning.

There is a splash of red across the face, and lovely blue elevation toning on the ribbon, headband, and lettering. The rim has alternating splashes of both red, purple, and blue.

So I hope I at least gave John some lunch money for this beauty. It may be weird, but it's still lovely.

I love his Ebay store.... More than once I went there and the "gotta have that now" bug hit me full force.... And yes, that is a lovely IHC!

That's a fine pickup for $11! You should post it in the "under $50" thread.

I actually went to the website earlier and looked through the repunched dates. I failed to match it.

This shows some shadow imprints at the 7:00 position of the 9 and first 0 and the left edge of the downstroke of the 9.

Could these be remnants of an 1899 date?

The blue reminds me of the blue that MS70 sometimes turns copper coins.
