Well, I clicked the button, but wish I hadn’t. This isn’t my worst snap purchase, but I should’ve held off and kept this money for something else. Sachsen-Kamenz, Stadt (City) Kipper Cu 3 Pfennig 1622 (damaged) Feel free to share your latest impulse purchases and/or regrets!
I don't have a specific coin that comes to mind but most of the ones that I regret involve not looking closely enough and not noticing damage. I often get a coin home and see that while the side I looked at was fine, there's damage on the other side, or big rim dings or scratches or things like that. It's a consequence of buying a lot of coins at once and going fast. Fortunately I'm usually not out a lot on these.
I bought a shipwreck coin earlier this year - a 1742 ducatoon. It seemed like a romantic piece at the time, but I have to admit I wouldn't buy it again if I could do it over.
