Hi, To many collectors get caught up in only buying PCGS OR NGC OR ANACS slabbed coins without looking at the coin itself. I have seen some butt ugly coins in slabs. I have also found coins that were very over graded or under graded. I bought a Standing Liberty Quarter last year in a anacs AU 58 slab that I cracked out and sent to PCGS that came back a MS62. I have also found some great coins in NTC and SEGS holders. They were overgraded in those holders but nice original coins. The latest NTC find was a Isabella quarter NTC MS65 sent to PCGS and came back a MS63. And if you are wondering why I crack them out of SEGS, PCI, and NTC holders and send them to PCGS or NGC its because of the resale value. Its easier to sell coins in those holders (PCGS OR NGC) than the others. So BUY THE COIN AND NOT THE SLAB!
