Is what the description should have said about the last item i got from ebay. All excited to get a first year issue ASE proof in all of its glorious original mint packaging and coa to find this staring me down like a bad date. I dont know how they missed this when shipping.
Yuck! In fact, double yuck!! What's that hanging off the "I" in "LIBERTY?" I hope that's on the slab, not the coin.
I was hoping all the whizz marks were from the airtite and yes that is on the capsule. Its like someone wrapped a turd and mailed it in a fancy package and i open it to find out it smells like disappoint.
Who missed it, the Mint when it was shipped, or the guy that wanted to get rid of it? This wasn't missed, it was ignored and wall-papered over.
Sad thing was it was MCM with a stock photo. I am sure they will rectify the situation but damn that's hard to miss.
I ORDERED A SAN FRAN SPECIAL FINISH MINT SET AND IT ARRIVED WITH A PIECE OF CRAP ON THE PENNY IN THE SLAB! I NOTIFIED THE MINT AND THE RUSH ME A LABEL A I SHIPPED IT AND RECEIVED A FRESH MINT SET QUICKLY. THEY SHOULD HAVE SOME BETTER QUALITY CONTROL, YOU THINK???. SEND THE PIECE OF CRAP BACK! SMILES!
I got a 2009 UHR $20 gold with a black spot on it, so I sent it back for replacement. I ended up getting someone else's reject. Great business plan they have, which is why I won't buy U.S. Mint products unless it is something special like the Baseball HOF dollars and gold. Otherwise I wait until they appear on the aftermarket below issue price.
The mints quality control has been suspect for quite sometime. There's a reason so many people have stopped dealing with them and just source everything on the after market
DO YOU FEEL THAT YOU HAVE A BETTER CHANCE FOR HIGHER QUALITY COINS (MS70) AND BETTER PRICED COINS FROM THE MINT THAN FROM THE PICKED THROUGH SECONDARY MARKET?????
I don't care. The plastic isn't what I collect. I see what the stuff sells for after the fad has passed and the newest hot item is what every kid has to have at Christmas.
