i have a strange bust half dollar with a raised extra design element on the reverse over the UNI in UNITED. It’s the only place on the coin that has anything like it. Is this a clashed die, cud, or something else? It looks like some sort of design, but I can’t find anything similar in the coin. Thanks.

This is the best picture I can get you. Hope it’s good enough.

If it's raised, it could be an occluded gas bubble (pre-lamination)
but the photo is actually too washed out, and too close.

Can you take another photo of the entire side of the coin,
    and not so well-lit?

Still too washed out to see the natural surfaces.

    Based on what I can see, if it's raised, it's a pre-lamination
    'bubble'.

I looks like your coin is gouged! The damage went from right to left. As the tool entered the coin it pushed up metal at the end of the mark at the left.

I agree that if that area is into the coin, it's a bad gouge.

My reply was predicated on the OP saying that it's raised,
and that the photos weren't the best.

Yes, if that is a valley instead of a raised mountain, it's damage.

I'm seeing a valley on the side toward the N that is undercutting the meatal and pushing UP the area below it.
