Bullet Money?

Discussion in 'World Coins' started by CanadianCharles, Sep 22, 2009.

  1. I have what appears to be bullet money from Thailand. I have looked them up and found a few others, but they had markings on them and mine doesn't. Did all of these have markings on them, or is there something else I should be looking for to tell if this is real or not?

    Thanks

There are marks on them from the mint, but also some could have been added later by money changers etc. They are one of those not very well researched areas of numismatics, along with boat money from Cambodia etc. that all fall into that odd and unusual numismatic category.

They are covered in the 19th century Krause coin catalogues though, I just don't have mine out as it is still buried in a moving box.
