I'm curious: has anyone else seen some major price weakness for Buffalo nickels in circulated grades? I recently snagged a mostly complete set of 1913-1938 Buffalos as well as 1938-1967 Jeffersons for around $90. That included all the silver Jeffersons, a 1931-S in VF, a 1914-D in AG/G, etc. Right place at the right time? I'm just not sure.
I'd say you scored pretty good depending upon how bad the dates are worn. A complete set of Jefferson's with all 11 War Nickels and the 50-D can go for around $30, so $60 for a nearly complete set of Buffalo's is very good. But I suppose if they're mostly AG that would be about right.
I have also seen soft Buffnick prices ever since the "silver fetish" came to full flower. I can basically "steal" Buffnicks at any auction that is loaded with Morgans and ASE's.
