Have hard time with various types of doubling. Double die, strike doubling and etc. the V and E in five cents look like some kind of doubling. Clarification appreciated and if anyone has tips to tell difference thanks
This looks like die deterioration doubling, which occurs when the dies have been used way past their lifespan. Go to doubleddie.com and click on the "worthless doubling" link, and you should get a good idea on how to differentiate the different types of doubling. Keep up the hunt!
