I have here a undated buffalo nickel and I’m wondering what I could get and if there is any way of uncovering the date?

Soak it in a little white vinegar and that should etch the date of the coin after it soaks a bit. This will permanently damage the coin though rendering it basically worthless, unless you happen to uncover a key date.

That being said, a dateless buffalo is basically worth only face value anyways. Unless you are able to make out one of the known varieties, like the 3 legged etc...

Completely agree with both esteemed members above. I have soaked dateless buffalos in vinegar with a small amount of peroxide. It turns them white as a ghost but about 75% of the time it will raise a readable date.

Dateless Buffs are common as dirt and date processed ones tend to be shunned.
