So I was on my local freecycle.com site and someone was giving away a bucket of pennies. Well I went and got it so here I am sorting and rolling cents. There mostly coppers :thumb: I'll post a total tally shortly.
I personally love pennies but that has to sat something about the popularity and/ or worth of a penny. Giving away a bucket of them?

@Skylark, Is it safe to assume you live on the west coast of Canada? There were an awful lot of Can pennies in that bucket.
If you live on the west coast of the US and not Canada thats probably why they're giving it away....Mostly Canadian and I know all the banks in my area will NOT take Canadian coin back...even if I got it from them in rolled coin. So in that sense yeah I can see why they were giving it away. If your in Canada then I don't know what that guy was thinking then...lol
I live in Vancouver When picking it up she thought I could maybe use it for crafts. Didnt say it but I thought, Nope going to keep the good stuff and cash the rest in.
