BU vs MS

    I've seen lots of ref to coins that are BU. My research indicates that BU coins fall in the Mint State Cat but where since I haven't seen any ref to BU-60 - 70 where-as I do see ref to MS-60 -70. I hope someone can help clarify this issue for me. Thanks

    Howdy Pairodocs - Welcome to the Forum !!

    In today's world - BU is kind of a generic term. It does not refer specifically to any particular grade.

    MS is the grade BU is a dress up

    BU or

    Unless you are reading CoinWorld ads and it is Premium Quality Brilliant Uncirculated or Superb BU Fresh From The Mint.
    Still only Uncirculated or MS-60
