My mom gave this to me while she was cleaning her closet. It is a BSA proof silver dollar coin made in Pennsylvania. There was only 350,000 minted. What is the value of this coin? Is it the value of silver? Thanks!
Very nice, wish my closet had that kinda stuff in it. I have no idea of the value but I'm gonna say it carries some kinda premium. Afterall it is a proof commem.
You can watch how this one sells to give yourself an idea. http://cgi.ebay.com/BSA-Centennial-...11?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item35b450b1fb
.77344 oz of pure silver. Unfortunately, they're not really popular on eBay, nor other places I've noticed. There is 1 completed sale on eBay from last week and that one sold, in OGP for $42.25, which is not much of a profit at all with the original issue price and shipping from the Mint.
Correction to your correction : "Proof" is not a condition, it is a method of manufacture. That is to say, a proof coin can be circulated (I own several circulated proof coins), up to flawless...in other words, 1-70...just like any other coin. The ANA and US Mint have this to say on the subject: http://www.usmint.gov/collectorsclub/index.cfm?action=ANACoinGrading
