Got this 1974 S Brown Ike Proof original Mint Packing, I can't figure out if I like it or not, it has a mix of cloudy semi-frosting and mirror surrounding Ike's head, which is nicely frosted. Raised rim line has a slight golden tone and the obverse in general throws off a strange bluish light. Reverse is straight DMPL which I can understand. My question, is this more desirable and collectible or reduced by environmental ick? Also, ANY idea of what I might ask for it as BIN Buy it Now price with free shipping. I'm outta my league on even guessing on this one. Thanks, Bill http://SilverWilliesCoins.com
This one isn't for me either. No idea what you should list it at but I'm sure it's something someone out there would be happy with. One of the great things about this hobby is beauty being in the eye of the beholder. I love a lot of my crazy weird toners that most probably hate.
I hear you. Personally, I think the Ike dollars are some of the butt ugliest coins the US has ever minted. Not to disparage his legacy, but he ain't Morgan's grand old lady, y'know?
I like your coin bud! I have a bunch of these, some blast white, some with cool toning. What's not to love? General/President Eisenhower, good man, good President. And the reverse is awesome. Huge silver coins?? On the cheap?? Yes, please!!!!
I am a bit of an odd duck, I think the Morgan is ok but its not my favorite design. Difference of opinion is part of what makes collecting fun.
