I just talked to my brother inlaw about the GWs and them having edge printing upside down... He thought he was on to something when he went to the post office today and got several of these ""Upside Down Edge Stamping Errors"... So, he went and took 200.00 out of the bank and went and got it all in Dollar coins... He spent an hour or so sorting them into two piles and has them on E-bay starting bid of .99 but atleast 5 of them are bidded up to 10.00... I told him, he better be careful as people are gonna want their money back in a week... What was even funnier as my Sister said, "what the heck are we going to do with all these if they don't sell???" I said, Um, keep one or two and spend the rest, you bought them for face value, so you won't be at a loss... :mouth:
Amazing If I tried selling coins like that I would get absolutly no bids, but I would have twenty people tell me how stupid I am and that the letters go both ways!!
I am amazed that they are selling.......Anyway, how does he prove the edge is "Upside down" on the listing ?
While fingering them up, he took pics showing Washingtion up, edge wording down...:goofer: Sometime I think you could sell a turd on Ebay... As long as you are honest and provide accurate details, the is bound to be an happy buyer...
It's my understanding that's a two step process when doing the edge lettering and the coins go in the edge letter machine randomly, there is no right side up or down. John
That is my (and most people on heres) understand too as far as I know... Thats why I made the post and thought it was funny...
