BROAD STRUCK AND OFF CENTER CLAD QUARTER. COMMENTS

    i found this interesting BU 1965 Washington error quarter in a box and saw that it was sort off broad struck and off center. The edge is different in 3 sections. I tried to photograph each area but the photos aren't too good. T he rim on the obverse is odd too. right above Washington's head there's what looks like to rims. Anyway, any comments or opinions would be welcome. Thanks, Mike

    It's present on the reverse, too, although not as clearly delineated. It's not an extra rim. It's the collar not having seated properly on it.

    I imagine this coin circulated for some time before someone set it aside.
    Looks like a nice error to me.

    No, there's no wear on it. It's probably because the collar wasn't doing it's job the planchet spread more making the detail weaker. Mike
