The other day I was browsing eBay for coins to buy with a bonus-buck offer and decided to buy a British Trade Dollar. It was listed at 1900 with no mint mark and the photos were not quite good enough to tell if it had a "B" in the trident or not. It LOOKED like it could well be a no-B coin and worth well over the $100 asking price. Since it had a return policy, I went ahead and purchased it. In hand today, it clearly DOES have a B so it a very common date and mark. Seller called it XF condition and that may well be true. But I also think it may be cleaned. So from what I have seen, this should probably be a $50 coin max, but thought I would get confirmation from The CT before sending it back (since I really don't know what I'm doing).

Here is the listing with the sellers pics...I probably can't do too much better until the weekend (if then).

Any and all thoughts are welcome.

Definitely cleaned and quite harshly . Too bad as it was a nice coin at one time before it was scrubbed .

It is on its way back where it came from. To replace it, I made my first Heritage purchase of a nice 1901C coin, certified in XF40.
