Here's a 1 cent (1896) and a half cent (1891) from British North Borneo. The cent is one of my all time favourite coin types and probably the first complete date series (in circulation strike at least) I completed. Both types were minted at Heaton mint Birmingham (small H mint mark on obverse)

Here is a picture of (Borneo) one of the island militas during the Japanese occupation of the early (40s) 42-44. My old man took the picture.

Ian,the British North Borneo coin series is a very difficult one to collect,as the 1/2c. coin occasionally turns up,& the cupro-nickel 1c. & silver 25c. coins virtually never turn up at all.

I have put a bid of NZ$45 on a lot containing 3 Indian silver coins & a British North Borneo 25c. that has turned up in an auction over here. The 25c. is catalogued at US$25 in F. in Krause.

I have been thinking about getting some of these British North Borneo coins. What I really enjoy about them is the representation of multipule languages. Thanks for showing them.
